Getting To Know Myself: 30 Day Challenge

Heads up: Clicking our links might just make our day (and support our work) at no extra cost to you. Find out more here.

Today, I started a 30 day challenge that I’m both excited and nervous about. This idea came after abruptly quitting my job to be a fulltime entrepreneur. I was really nervous about this challenge but last night I stumbled on a video by Queen Leora, who shared her tough experiences, and it really hit home for me.

This challenge is more than just a set of tasks; it’s a spiritual journey to help me grow closer to God and focus on my goals as an entrepreneur.

Seeing Queen Leora get emotional about her situation with her baby dad and how she prayed the night before, only to wake up to chaos, made me realize exactly what I am asking God to do. It scared me a little, and I had to ask myself if I was prepared for this.

If you are a spiritual person, then you know that when you ask God to remove anything in your life that is blocking your blessings, he usually removes people and things that you feel are the those closest to you.

So, I prayed the night before and headed into my journey both excited and scared. But I told myself, “I’m ready,” even though I know it won’t be easy.

30 Day Challenge Rules

For the next 30 days, I’m setting myself some tough rules to help me grow personally and get stronger spiritually. This isn’t just about giving up bad habits; it’s about changing my daily life to better reflect who I really am and who I want to be.

The Rules:

No Smoking Weed: I’ve been using marijuana to deal with stress and emotions since I was a teenager, starting when my dad misunderstood something and made me try it. This habit stuck with me even through my military years. By stopping, I hope to face my feelings directly and find healthier ways to handle them.

No Personal Spending: It’s easy to waste money on things we don’t need. This rule will help me think about what’s necessary and what’s not, and keep my money for important things.

No Personal Phone Calls from 9 AM to 9 PM: This will help me keep focused on being productive and creating content without distractions during the day.
Create Daily Content: I need to make 30 YouTube videos, 30 blog posts, and 30 Instagram reels. Even though I find Instagram challenging, this task will push me to be consistent and creative.

Daily Prayer and Meditation: Starting each day with 5 minutes of prayer and meditation will strengthen my spiritual life and clear my mind for the day.

Read One Book on Personal Growth: Reading a book about improving myself will give me new ideas and motivation throughout this challenge.

Why I Am Doing This

This challenge is about breaking free from what other people think I should be and from the limits I’ve put on myself. As I get close to turning 40, I no longer want to hide behind masks to avoid being called “weird.” It’s time to be proud me.

Quitting smoking weed is a big part of this challenge. Realizing that I use it more for coping than for fun has made me see how it affects my mental health. I want to experience my real emotions without any haze.

But this challenge isn’t just about stopping things; it’s about starting new, good habits that fit with my values and goals. It’s a chance to connect more with God, understand myself better, and build a strength that can’t be shaken by outside forces.

As I begin day one, I’m both excited and a bit nervous. I know this will push me to look at my weak spots and use my strong points. But I’m ready to stick with it until the end, believing that I’ll come out of it stronger, more focused, and deeply in touch with my spiritual side and personal needs.

Follow along as I go through this journey, share what I learn, and maybe inspire you to think about your own path to bettering yourself. Let’s break free from old habits and welcome the growth that’s waiting for us.
